New York City!!

Dave was working in New York City, so I flew out and joined him for the weekend. It was a quick trip but so much fun.  Here are some of the things we saw and did.

Our hotel the first night was right next to ground zero and the financial district.  So we walked around ground zero and the New York Stock Exchange.

We also walked along the East River and saw the Brooklyn Bridge.

Next, we went to the Rockefeller Center.

And of course, we had to try a cupcake at Magnolia's Bakery. Very tasty! Although I don't think it was worth the $6 we spent for 2 cupcakes.

Our next hotel was right in Times Square.  Very cool!

You can't go to New York City without seeing a broadway musical, so we went to Phantom of the Opera.  I loved it!!

Then we took a random carriage ride and the driver got pulled over by the NYPD for having his horses in Times Square before 11 pm. We jumped out early and was able to only pay half price.  Thank heavens because this was going to be an expensive ride!

To finish out the night we walked all over and found Serendipity for a frozen hot chocolate. We got there at 11pm and still had a 30min wait. This place is hoppin!

The next morning we got up early to go and see Lady Liberty.  It's a good thing we got there first thing in the morning because it was still a 2 hour wait in line.  It was worth it.  It was very cool to see.

Then off to YANKEE Stadium!!!

We walked around Central Park for about 3 hours.  I think we just about walked around the whole thing. It was fun to see the beautiful park right in the middle of the dirty city.

We finished off the night with New York Cheesecake! It was yummy! It's a lot better than the cheesecake we have here.

What a fun trip!

Lesha and Jeff Atkinson

My little sister married Jeff Atkinson on March 26, 2010.  Here are just a few of pictures from their wedding.

Look at this frown! He would be smiling until someone tried to take his picture.  Too cute!!

Hair Cut Gone BAD!!

We decided that our dog needed a haircut before the summer so we took him to the pet groomer last saturday.  My husband explained to the groomer that we wanted our dogs hair trimmed to about an inch in length.  She confidently said that she always trims golden retrievers to a "7."  Not knowing exactly what that meant, my husband agreed to the "7" as long as it wasn't too short.

Dave picked up Tucker and quickly called to warn me that I was not going to like the cut. This is what they did to our dog:

I have never seen such a funny looking dog in my life. Everything is shaved except his head and tail.  I can't believe the groomer actually thought this looked good.  She reassured Dave that we would love the hair cut.  Seriously?? Our dog looks naked!

Here is a before picture and we hope his hair grows back quickly!!

Happy Birthday DAVE!

Today is my husband Dave's Birthday! We had an enjoyable day with the family! We went to the putting green at Swan Lake's with my brothers and of course Dave won, but I came in second! Wahoo!

Dave loves the Chicago Bears so I attempted to make a Bears cake.  It tasted great!

Happy Birthday! Love you Babe!

MOAB!!!

Our annual trip to Moab with the Sawyers for some Jeepin'.

Now that I am married it sure makes me more nervous watching Dave climb up all the rocks in his jeep.

We had a great time. The weather was perfect!

Happy Birthday to Me!

I just had a birthday and my sweet husband made his very first birthday cake for me.
Here is the finished product:
With the help of my mom he even made the frosting daisies.

A week earlier he asked my sister how to make a "Tucker" cake.  He wanted to make a cake that looked like our dog.  Lesha,  suggested getting a picture and having that put on the cake.

My husband also planned surprise party with both our families.  Everyone was hiding at the house when I got home from work and school.  My cute nephew loved the idea of a surprise party and kept peeking out from around the corner and saying "surprise" over and over again.  My niece was also very excited about the surprise birthday party. She was telling everyone it was "her first day for a surprise party."

Thanks everyone for making my Birthday Special!
