Wall Paper Finally Gone!

The floral wallpaper in the Kitchen and down the stairs is finally gone!!  I have wanted to tear this wall paper down since we moved in and finally we had time to rip it off over the Christmas break.  Here are pictures of the hideous wallpaper.

I will post the newly painted walls later.

Christmas

We had a wonderful holiday break. We enjoyed being home and spending time with our families without having to worry about work and school.

We spent Christmas Eve at Dave's Parents house and Christmas morning at Dave's sister Lyn's house and had a great time watching her cute boys open their Christmas Presents.

Later we went to my parents house and was able to talk with my brother Kellen who is serving a mission in Scotland.  He will be coming home in January.  We are all very excited to see him.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving this year was at my house. It was a lot of fun having all the family over. I cooked my very first turkey. It turned out great, thanks to the oven bag for making it moist and yummy! Here are some pictures of everyone eating and enjoying the thanksgiving feast.

School

I just started my Master's Program this Fall at the University of Utah and have been very nervous about going back to school. So far it has been a good experience and a little bit overwhelming. I received an email from one of my professors today after taking a quiz last week and this is what it said:

"Excellent job on your quiz- the best I have read so far. Well-written, detailed yet concise responses with plenty of citations. If you do this on the exam you will be in good shape :)"

I was so pleased to hear this! Yeah! Maybe I can do this Masters program!

Busy Weekend!

We went to the State Fair last night.  We enjoyed looking at all the livestock.

I was also able to get a lot of canning done.  I bottled peaches and salsa!

I planted a zucchini plant this summer and I have oodles of zucchini. I have been making everything I possibly can with zucchini.  These cookies are one of the best! They are so yummy!

Here is the recipe:

INGREDIENTS
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground cloves
2 cups finely shredded zucchini
1 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS
In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg and cloves; gradually add to the creamed mixture. Stir in the zucchini, nuts and chocolate chips. Drop by tablespoonfuls 3 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees F for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool.

Thanks for the recipe Miriam!

Tucker

This is our dog, Tucker. He is a year old golden retriever.  He has a lot of energy and keeps us very busy.  I know most these pictures are of him sleeping but that is when he looks the cutest!

We are the Reeders.  We thought we would start a blog to share all our fun adventures with you.
